You Are:

UST is seeking four (4) experienced Senior GoLang Developers to join a project for one of the largest banks in Canada, building scalable, event-driven backend systems.

The opportunity:

  • Hybrid: In office/remote
  • Develop and maintain backend services using Go (Golang), ensuring high performance and scalability.
  • Design and build applications using Event-Driven Architecture (EDA).
  • Work extensively with event brokers like Solace (preferred) and Kafka.
  • Implement pub/sub messaging patterns; knowledge of choreography patterns is a plus.
  • Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Azure DevOps.
  • Build and manage containerized services using OpenShift (OCP) or alternatives like Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Design and expose RESTful APIs and work with RPC protocols as needed.

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

What you need:

  • 5+ years of backend development experience, with a minimum of 3 years in Go for intermediary roles and 5+ years for senior roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Solace and/or Kafka.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and building event-driven applications.
  • Solid understanding of pub/sub messaging architectures.
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, ideally Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools such as OCP, Kubernetes, and Docker.
  • Working knowledge of Grafana, Splunk, or equivalent monitoring tools.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, RPC, MongoDB, and SQL MI.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Exposure to choreography patterns in microservices.
  • Experience in the financial services or banking domain is a strong plus.

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: Remote-Canada

Compensation Range: $108,000-$132,000

Benefits

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company-paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year). They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company-paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.

Part-time regular and temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).

All Canadian employees who work in a province, territory or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
