What We're Looking For

Baylor Law School seeks a Director of Community Engagement and Belonging to cultivate a sense of belonging and community so that all Baylor Law students feel welcome, supported, and valued.

Candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree with three years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of and affinity for Baylor Law School that includes an understanding of Baylor Law’s mission
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • The ability to conceive and execute a strategic vision for Baylor Law School’s community engagement and belonging initiatives
  • Flexibility to occasionally work in the evenings, early morning, and sometimes on weekends
  • The ability to establish and maintain efficient and effective working relationships with Baylor Law administration, faculty, students, Baylor University partners, and all other constituents
  • Superior skills to multi-task, prioritize, exercise good judgment, work independently as well as in collaboration, and exhibit excellence in project management
  • Commitment to professionalism, inclusion, and appropriate management of personnel and resources
  • Commitment to excellent customer service

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in and knowledge of law school student life activities
  • J.D., Master’s degree, M.S.W., M.Div., or Ph.D
  • Five years of relevant professional experience

Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and implement initiatives that foster a strong sense of community and belonging among Baylor Law students. Encourage collaboration among all student groups
  • Promote a culture that supports underrepresented groups and ensures that all students feel welcome and respected
  • Foster a positive environment by promoting civil discourse and trust within the community
  • Implement programs that recognize and celebrate the contributions of all students. Create a culture of recognition and gratitude
  • Assist with maintaining Baylor Law School’s strong connections with the local community, encouraging students to participate in community service and outreach activities
  • Assist with recruitment events as requested to identify students who reflect the depth and breadth of backgrounds represented within the Christian mission and scope of the University and Law School
  • Work collaboratively with key Law School stakeholders to facilitate the successful retention of diverse students
  • Assist the marketing and communications team with creating messaging for social media platforms and the website
  • Maintain knowledge of University and Law School student resources and assist with sharing information about these resources as needed
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
  • Ability to comply with University policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
