JOB SUMMARY:

Employee should be detail-oriented, organized, and service-driven to support statewide school gardening initiatives and operations at the Charleston-based TEACH Center. The Program Assistant will provide critical support to online training programs, school garden supply coordination, and administrative operations at the TEACH Center. This position involves approximately 60% focus on school gardening programs and 40% on TEACH Center administration and operations. Other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

30% - Essential - Online Course Facilitation & Participant Support

Facilitate Clemson Extension's online professional development courses for school and community gardeners. Track, organize, and report participant data using spreadsheets, databases (e.g., Airtable), and Salesforce. Communicate with participants throughout the course and issue certificates of completion. Prepare, pack, and ship course materials; deliver locally as needed.

30% - Essential - School Garden Supply Coordination & Logistics

Manage procurement of school garden supplies and equipment; coordinate ordering and delivery logistics.

Submit and reconcile expenses and receipts through Concur.

Maintain storage inventory and track supply levels in preparation for online courses and transplant shipments.

Coordinate and assist with quarterly transplant deliveries to schools.

20% - Essential - Procurement, Inventory, & Financial Administration

Order supplies and equipment utilizing state approved procurement systems.

Manage related deposits and documentation utilizing various financial systems as required.

Receive, inventory, and organize incoming deliveries for both the TEACH Center and school gardening programs.

10% - Essential - Event Coordination & TEACH Center Scheduling

Create and manage event registrations in Eventbrite; run reports, check in participants, and support onsite events.

Communicate and schedule events and programs in the TEACH Center, maintain and update the TEACH Center calendar and events schedule.

Assist with TEACH Center operations, including: Meeting and classroom setup, A/V and presentation technology, Hospitality (e.g., coffee service) General event support and cleanup

10% - Essential - Program Support & Administrative Tasks

Assist with soil sample intake, packaging, mailing, and data entry into the Agricultural Service Lab system.

Provide light administrative support to volunteers, including photocopying and answering general inquiries.

Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education -

A high school diploma and relevant program experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

Band: 04 Expected Salary ($32,700.00 - $46,578.00)

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

Normal Operations

Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
