About this Role:

The Information Technology Supervisor II will lead the Data Quality Planning Unit, overseeing a team responsible for defining, documenting, and implementing data quality rules and thresholds across DHCS systems. This position plays a key role in ensuring the integrity and usability of enterprise data by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to gather business requirements, lead cross-functional workgroups, and serve as a subject matter expert in data quality. Key responsibilities include supervising staff engaged in data mapping, developing data flow documentation, supporting ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and creating actionable data quality checks. This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of data quality best practices.

The position is subject to the Department's Conflict of Interest Code and filing a Statement of Economic Interest (Form 700) when assuming this position, annually by April 1, and when leaving this position.

Training and Development (T&D) assignments may be considered for this position for current California civil service employees. T&D assignments cannot exceed 24 months. However, successful T&D candidates may transition to a permanent appointment, if eligible at the end of the T&D assignment.

Working Conditions

This position offers a hybrid work schedule as outlined in the telework information section below; the amount of telework is based on the operational business needs. Beginning July 1, 2025, pursuant to Executive Order N-22-25 issued March 3, 2025, and California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) Statewide Guidance issued March 13, 2025, DHCS team members generally will be required to report in-person a minimum of four days per week unless exempted/excepted.CalHR Telework Definitions:

  1. In Office – refers to all working days.
  2. Hybrid – refers to some working days in office and other days telework.
  3. Telework – refers to all working days at approved alternate work location.

Telework Information

Currently, this position may be eligible for telework up to three days per week and is required to report in-person and site-based a minimum of two days per week. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change consistent with DHCS’ Telework Program and Government Code sections 14200 – 14203.
