New Employee Food Service Stipend
New regularly appointed employees will receive a $500 stipend after 90 calendar days of employment and have maintained a 90% attendance rate for that period.
Food Service Employee Retention Bonus Program
Employees will receive two annual bonuses based on their years of service in the Food and Nutrition Department and maintaining a 90% attendance rate. Stipends will be issued in December 2024 (Paid in Jan 2025) and May 2025 (Paid in May or June 2025).
Food Service Mid Semester Stipend (Fall Break)
The Food and Nutrition Department will provide a mid-semester stipend to all regularly appointed employees who return to work after fall break on Monday, October 21st in a paid status and have maintained a 90% attendance rate.

This position works 40 Weeks per year, 5 days per week at 7 hours per day (6:30am-1:30pm) and follows the EVSC School Board of Trustees approved school calendar.

Annual, incremental pay increases are given for each year of at least 120 days of service with the EVSC in this role.
BENEFITS:
EVSC offers four Anthem medical insurance plans. Full medical, dental and vision insurance are provided with this position. Employees may pay the additional cost to add family members. Click here to view the rates for each plan. If elected, insurance coverage begins the first of the month following the successful completion of a 20 working-day probationary period.
Employees enrolled in an EVSC medical insurance plan are eligible to use any of the three EVSC Health & Wellness Centers. The health clinics provide primary care services, generic prescription medications, physicals, health screenings, and labs; all at NO COST to the employee or covered family member.

EVSC employees have access to the EVSC Wee Care Learning Centers. The Wee Care program provides a quality early learning experience for children as young as six weeks through age five at a special employee rate.
This position will automatically be enrolled in the Public Employees' Retirement Fund (PERF) through the state of Indiana, which includes a defined benefit (Pension) as well as an Annuity Savings Account (ASA). Employees may also participate in a 403(b) Plan. Enrolling in the 403(b) plan allows employees to save for their retirement by making a pre-tax salary deferral contributions to the Plan.
Eligible employees may enroll in the EVSC group life insurance and long term disability plans. EVSC also offers a variety of voluntary insurance products through American Fidelity.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED. Two to three years previous quantity food preparation experience. Ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply and divide in relation to forecasting and recipe adjustment.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Successful completion of the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification Course. Successful completion of the EVSC Cook's Training class. Member of the School Nutrition Association is highly desirable.
