What do we expect?

Regional Sales Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and execute the regional sales strategy, focusing on driving revenue growth and expanding the customer base within the assigned territory.
  • Regularly travel within the region to visit customers, markets, and regional managers, building and maintaining strong, lasting relationships specific to the regional landscape.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities through prospecting, presentations, and executing regional programs and marketing initiatives.
  • Manage and mentor the regional Customer Service Managers and Sales Coordinators, ensuring strong performance and alignment with regional business goals.
  • Cultivate and maintain current business relationships through in-person meetings, phone calls, emails, and written correspondence with customers in the region.
  • Analyze regional market intelligence on customers, competitors, and local market conditions to develop tailored sales strategies for the area.

Customer & Regional Market Engagement

  • Investigate and respond to customer inquiries in a positive and timely manner, ensuring customer satisfaction and resolution of regional concerns.
  • Regularly to stay informed on growing, harvesting, packing, and distribution processes, fostering productive working relationships with local farm teams.
  • Leverage industry data such as Mushroom Council/IRI category insights and regional customer data to inform business reviews, account presentations, and regional category management.
  • Ensure compliance with all GMP/HACCP and safety regulations within the region, maintaining the highest operational standards tailored to regional needs.
  • Regional Sales Performance Management & Reporting
  • Monitor and manage regional sales targets, KPIs, and performance metrics, ensuring the team meets or exceeds regional expectations.
  • Provide weekly reports to the VP of Sales, Operations, and the facility General Manager, highlighting key
  • activities, performance, and region-specific recommendations.
  • Maintain a well-structured daily schedule to ensure effective use of time and regular customer engagement within the region.

Regional Promotions & Profitability

  • Maximize regional profitability by developing and executing targeted promotional strategies, optimizing pricing, and minimizing adjustments to sustain or increase regional revenue.
  • Participate in regional food shows, store openings, and other customer functions to increase brand presence and strengthen regional customer relationships.

Collaboration & Regional Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure alignment of regional sales goals, business strategies, and operational priorities within the region.
  • Work closely with marketing, customer service, and cross-functional teams to drive customer engagement and satisfaction specific to the region.
  • Provide leadership in the execution of regional strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives while considering regional needs and priorities.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with a strong background in business, economics, or marketing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fresh produce sales, with a proven track record of success.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% locally and nationally (depending on territory).
  • Established relationships and key contacts within the wholesale and retail produce industry.
  • Proficient in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, specifically HubSpot.
  • Experience with Business Analytics and Business Intelligence tools (e.g., CLIQ).
  • Proven experience conducting detailed sales analysis to identify trends, market opportunities, and areas for improvement
  • Deep understanding of the critical interaction between Sales and Operations teams.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles related to profitability, pricing, and margins.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • At least 5 years of experience in personnel management, with a focus on team development.
  • Proven ability to manage the dynamic relationship between sales and operations.
  • Experience with profit and loss management.
  • Fresh mushroom sales experience is highly preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
