Job Title: Electrical Assembler

Job Description

This role demands a strong mechanical aptitude, requiring you to perform electrical assembly operations in accordance with documented manufacturing procedures. You will be tasked with building trailer and truck-mounted asphalt equipment from the ground up, including the sub-assembly of individual component parts and their final assembly into complete and finished products.

Responsibilities

  • Use basic hand and power tools to sub-assemble individual components such as engine cabinets, control boxes, and shovel cleaning compartments.
  • Assemble sub-components into the final manufactured unit, including mounting 2-4 ton capacity hoppers to trailer frames.
  • Install control boxes, wiring harnesses, and various heating systems such as LP and Diesel burners.
  • Assemble and install electrical components like wire harnesses and control boxes.
  • Follow electrical schematics and blueprints to ensure accurate builds.
  • Build and wire both high and low voltage control panels.
  • Install wiring systems on truck bodies and mounted equipment.
  • Support the Service team with electrical troubleshooting.
  • Occasionally assist with light mechanical assembly.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of experience in complex assembly
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical documents
  • Proficiency in using electronic testing equipment (e.g., voltmeter)
  • Experience with Diesel, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, and electrical control systems

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Certified Diesel Technician or similar experience is a bonus
  • Experience with hydraulics and/or other power transmission systems preferred
  • Familiarity with 12-volt electrical systems preferred
  • Skilled in using hand tools (e.g., wire cutters, crimpers, soldering tools)
  • Experience with soldering and terminal installation is a plus

Work Environment

The work environment is spacious and clean, set within a very industrial sheet metal manufacturing shop. Expect to work amidst various machines, tools, and equipment, with around 50 people working in the shop across different departments. The shift hours are Monday-Thursday, 3 PM-1:30 AM, with an optional shift on Friday.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Branch, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $27.00/hr.
