Job Title: Paint Prepper

Job Description

As a Paint Prepper, you will be responsible for final paint preparation, cleaning trucks, detailing, adding newly painted parts, and applying decals. This role involves working in various positions, including climbing underneath trucks and using rolling ladders to reach elevated areas. Protective equipment such as masks or respirators will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Perform final paint prep and detailing on trucks.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for painting.
  • Assemble newly painted parts and apply decals.
  • Use ladders and climb underneath trucks for thorough paint coverage.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and precision.

Essential Skills

  • 6+ months of experience in Paint Prep in an Industrial Paint Environment or Auto Body Paint Prep, OR 2+ years in a shop environment with mechanical knowledge.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently.
  • Ownership of basic tools and ability to bring them to work.
  • Excellent reading and verbal communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Detailing experience is strongly preferred.
  • Solid work history with no gaps.

Work Environment

Work in a very busy and large company focused heavily on safety. The paint building is fast-paced, with high demand and pressure. Expect standing, repetitive, and physical work for 8-12 hours per day. The environment is numbers-driven, with mandatory overtime at times to meet high-speed deadlines. You will work with sanders all shift in a dusty environment, with protective masks or respirators provided. The position is for the 3rd shift from 9:00 pm to 6:00 am.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of White Bear Lake, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
