Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

As a Machine Operator, you will set up and operate a variety of machines, including Plasma Arc Plate Cutter, Threader, Hydraulic and Manual Press Brakes, Plate Roll, Angle Rolls, Laser Cutter, and Saw. You will work from engineering drawings or work orders, selecting the proper tools, fixtures, and equipment settings to accurately cut, bend, or roll parts. Completing tasks within specified tolerances and timeframes is essential, as is maintaining and scanning work orders accurately for each job.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a variety of machines such as Plasma Arc Plate Cutter, Threader, Hydraulic and Manual Press Brakes, Plate Roll, Angle Rolls, Laser Cutter, and Saw.
• Work from engineering drawings or work orders to select proper tools, fixtures, and equipment settings.
• Complete parts within specified tolerances and timeframes.
• Accurately complete and scan work orders for each job.
• Perform preventative maintenance on machines to ensure they remain in working order.
• Maintain a constant state of alertness and work safely.
• Function as a team member, treating all colleagues with dignity and respect.

• Report to work on time as scheduled, ready to perform duties.
• Perform other duties as directed, assigned, or necessary to achieve department objectives effectively.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in machine operation and production processes.
• Experience with Plasma Arc Plate Cutter, Laser Cutter, Press Brake, Saw, and similar machinery.
• Knowledge of different types and grades of metals.
• Ability to read blueprints and work orders accurately.
• High attention to detail to produce quality parts without defects.
• Ability to follow work instructions and document accurately.
• Capability to perform job functions safely and with full focus.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with angle grinders and shears is advantageous.

Work Environment

The work environment requires accountability for all concerns within your scope of work, with a responsibility to remedy, report, and communicate any issues to supervisors or managers as appropriate. You are expected to adhere to safe work practices, ensure your work area is clean, and remain compliant regarding hazardous, non-hazardous, and universal waste. Personal protective equipment is mandatory, including company-approved safety glasses or goggles, steel/composite toe shoes, hand protection, and respiratory and hearing protection in designated areas. Appropriate clothing and additional safety equipment are required as necessary.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.65 - $22.18/hr.
