Job Title: Environmental Technician

Job Description

Join a leading nationwide environmental company as an Environmental Technician and play a vital role in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. You will be responsible for handling, transporting, and disposing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials, as well as maintaining warehouse cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Transport and dispose of waste drums by throwing them into a hopper.
• Identify and label drums based on their contents.
• Load and offload waste drums onto trucks.
• Separate hazardous waste from non-hazardous waste and store them in designated warehouse areas.
• Maintain cleanliness by sweeping the warehouse.

Essential Skills

• 1+ year of experience in environmental labor.
• Ability to perform general labor tasks.
• Understanding of environmental science principles.
• Troubleshooting skills.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Hazwoper certification is a plus but not required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• OSHA 10 certification preferred.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Desire to build a long-term career in the environmental field.

Work Environment

Work in a dynamic setting that combines indoor and outdoor environments in the environmental field. Enjoy a weekday shift from Monday to Friday, with hours from 6am to 2:30pm or 7am to 3:30pm, and opportunities for overtime.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Providence, Rhode Island.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $21.00/hr.
