Job Description
The Product Owner will be responsible for defining and prioritizing the Portuguese localization backlog, working closely with analysts, developers, content, and compliance stakeholders. This role demands a deep understanding of ERP systems, local tax/reporting obligations, and the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable product increments.
This is a hybrid role – three days per week in our Porto office.
Key Responsibilities
In this role you'll:
- Own and manage the Portugal localization backlog
- Prioritize features based on regulatory impact, market value, and effort
- Define user stories and acceptance criteria in collaboration with Business Analysts
- Coordinate with central and local teams to ensure cross-functional alignment
- Lead sprint planning and delivery cycles with development teams
- Represent Portuguese regulatory and user needs within the broader Sage Active roadmap
- Support go-to-market activities and ensure readiness for tax authority certification and customer adoption
Essential experience:
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in ERP or financial software
- Deep understanding of Portuguese fiscal and accounting legislation
- Excellent stakeholder management and prioritization skills
- Experience working in Agile development teams
- Fluency in Portuguese and advanced English
Desirable experience:
- Previous experience localizing financial systems
- Understanding of SAF-T (PT) structures and e-invoicing regulations
- Background in accounting or tax compliance
