CNC Machine Operator

Job Description

The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for loading a screw machine with brass and other metal rods as raw material, ensuring smooth operation, and conducting quality checks with calipers and gauges to meet requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and troubleshoot a variety of precision machinery to produce high-quality components.
  • Perform regular maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal functionality and minimize downtime.
  • Adjust machine settings and configurations as needed to maintain production standards.
  • Ensure components meet technical specifications and quality assurance standards.
  • Adhere to health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct inspections and tests to verify the quality and precision of components.
  • Work closely with the Machinist team to meet production goals and targets.
  • Monitor machinery processes to ensure consistent productivity and maintain efficient workflows.
  • Address machining issues through adjustments and troubleshooting.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to supervisors for additional resources or intervention.

Essential Skills

  • 4+ years of machine operating experience.
  • 2+ years in a custom fabrication shop or machine shop.
  • Experience with inspection and testing using gauges and calipers.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read blueprints.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with multi-spindle automatic screw machines such as Davenport and Wickman.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of machining processes.
  • Ability to quickly identify and troubleshoot machinery problems.
  • Adaptability to changing production needs and ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication skills for effective team collaboration.
