Job Summary

The primary role of the Shipping/Receiving and Packaging position is to assist in moving coiled steel material weighing range from One ton to 10 tons per coil, in and out of the facility. This role involves various tasks that change daily based on the mill's and customers' needs. The position works closely with the shipping office to package, ship, and receive materials as necessary and may require shift changes. Responsibilities include loading trucks, using the overhead receiving crane, running the bander, operating the Bay 4 crane, and packaging BWA dock material. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and a problem solver who can efficiently and accurately handle assignments. Flexibility in scheduling, including staying late or working weekends, is essential to meet customer needs.

Shift: This position follows a swing/rotating schedule, with shifts varying between the hours of 5:00 AM and 8:00 PM. Flexibility with work hours is essential.

Pay Range: $21.00-$25.00

Responsibilities

• Safety: Promote and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and the team.
• Leadership: Lead by example, hold others accountable, and coach, train, and develop team members in crane operations and annealing processes.
• Problem Solving: Identify problems, use tools and resources to find root causes, and implement permanent corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Material Handling: Assist with loading and unloading trucks, using forklifts and cranes.
• Initiative: Drive personal, team, customer, and company success.
• Ownership: Work within our philosophy and take ownership of the mill and crew.
• Computer Skills: Utilize the Oracle operating system.
• Continuous Improvement: Engage in the transformation process and use daily improvement tools.
• Attendance: Maintain a high attendance rate and work flexible hours.
• Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
