Western States Fire Protection is seeking a Senior Cash Application Specialist to join its accounting team at the Corporate headquarters in Centennial, CO. Western States Fire Protection is a full-service fire protection contractor with 46 locations west of the Mississippi. With over $650 million in annual revenue and 2,300 employees, Western States Fire Protection is one of the largest, most respected providers of fire protection systems and services in the industry.
The salary range for this position is $50,000-70,000 per year depending on experience.
Job Responsibilities
- Daily posting and balancing of ACH/EFT and lockbox payments received
- Ensure all payments are applied timely and accurately
- Depositing and posting of checks received at our office
- Verify the accuracy of each transaction, ensuring amounts and descriptions match
- Cross trained to assist with all AR responsibilities
- Field questions from branch personnel and assist in problem solving/resolution
- Support and train branch personnel on various A/R related tasks
- Participate in monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Assist with interim and annual audits, as well as SOX compliance
- Assist in processing write-off transactions and refunding of monies due back to our customer.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Job Qualifications
- Five years of cash application experience in a high-volume environment
- Full cycle of AR knowledge
- Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Combination of strong attention to detail and customer service skills
- Team player that operates well in a small dynamic team environment
- Ability to grasp new technology and software quickly
- Strong communication skills as this position communicates frequently with branch teams
- Ability to be flexible and embrace change
- Construction and/or job costing experience a plus
- Willing to pass a post-offer drug screen, background, and reference check
