As a member of the Retirement Technology (RT) Senior Leadership Team, you will lead multiple SCRUM teams that support the Schwab Retirement Plan Services (RPS) applications – aligning to business, operations and technology priorities. You will be immersed in a collaborative, innovative, and technically challenging environment. The platforms you will support are essential to the success of the holistic Schwab Retirement lines of business.

As a People Leader Director in the RPS Technology organization, you will lead managers and teams aligned with the following disciplines:

  • A strategic transformative viewpoint of the suite of applications they support including a modernization roadmap and key areas of investment and the resulting benefits.
  • Assessing and partnering with key strategic vendor relationships.
  • Partnering with product and business partners to influence application changes that meet both business and technology drivers.
  • Agile maturity that also balances short-term planning with full target roadmaps to align to.
  • Proactive monitoring and compliance to currency and security programs and standards
  • Coordination with SAVE partners to ensure robust runbooks and procedures are in place to support the applications in production

What you have

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years at the Director level, leading teams that support multiple critical applications
  • 3+ years as a manager of managers – direct people leader experience, managing organizations of over 20 on and offshore team members
  • 5+ years’ experience managing a combination of legacy and modern applications and designing and executing a modernization vision and strategy.
  • Experience in planning and executing a transformation strategy for a large eco-system of critical applications.
  • The ability to implement and track programs to measure and ensure application availability and security and currency compliance across enterprise programs.
  • Excellent communications skills that can convey updates to a variety of stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including preparing and delivering to executive level.

Preferred:

  • Experience holding teams accountable to learning from production events and tracking root cause and action items to completion.
  • Fostering an environment of continual improvement, open and transparent conversations and a high degree comradery and coordination that is focus on outcomes.
