Job Title: Automation Engineering Technician

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineering Technician to join a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing company. This role involves performing calibration, repair, installation, and troubleshooting of instruments, process control systems, and equipment. You will apply your knowledge in automation and measurement technology to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and contribute to the enhancement of equipment, processes, and work instructions across various business, laboratory, manufacturing, packaging, and facility areas.

Responsibilities

  • Perform calibrations of inspection, measurement, and test equipment according to detailed calibration work instructions.
  • Record results in Computerized Maintenance Management or Calibration Data Management System.
  • Identify out-of-tolerance conditions and perform corrective actions such as adjustments, component replacement, and applying correction factors.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain equipment to ensure reliable performance, including adjusting, repairing, and replacing components like sensors, cables, connectors, and control boards.
  • Conduct advanced maintenance and repair activities on equipment and systems used in manufacturing, packaging, facilities, and other areas of the site.
  • Monitor PLC or HMI program logic during certifications or troubleshooting to understand deviations from proper operation.
  • Use and maintain primary, secondary, and/or working calibration standards.
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation of work orders.
  • Identify waste, workflow interrupters, and other opportunities for improvement, recommend solutions, and assist with implementation.
  • Engage in skill development to enhance team performance.
  • Communicate effectively with system operators and key partners to ensure proper workflow.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with calibrations, including pressure transmitters, airflow measurement, temperature pressure, and speed/process parameters.
  • PLC Troubleshooting in Allen Bradley.
  • experienced with electrical troubleshooting experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Electrical/Electromechanical Engineering.
  • Familiarity with calibration and maintenance management systems.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70E (electrical safety standards for workplaces).

Work Environment

Work in a clean and climate-controlled, state-of-the-art facility that includes office spaces, labs, and manufacturing areas. Flexibility around work hours is offered, with a minimum of 40 hours expected per week. There are two schedule options: Tuesday through Saturday or Sunday through Friday. Shifts include: First shift (6:00 AM–2:30 PM with 30-minute flexibility), Second shift (3:00 PM–11:30 PM with 30-minute flexibility), and Third shift (11:30 PM–7:30 AM with 30-minute flexibility).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr.
