Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Supplier Quality Technician to ensure the quality of products entering our facility from our supplier base. As a Supplier Quality Technician, you will oversee incoming products, ensuring they meet audit requirements and address non-conforming parts by collaborating directly with suppliers. You will be responsible for issuing reports, evaluating root causes, and implementing corrective actions. Additionally, you will create cost analyses for labor, space, and materials incurred due to non-conformance, presenting these costs to suppliers for reimbursement. Swift action in sorting and containment is required if supplier response times are delayed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the quality of products entering the facility from suppliers.
• Ensure products meet audit requirements and address non-conforming parts.
• Collaborate with suppliers to issue reports and implement corrective actions.
• Create cost analyses for non-conformance-related expenses and present them to suppliers.
• Take immediate action in sorting and containment if supplier response times are delayed.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of experience in automotive quality as a Supplier Quality Engineer or 10+ years as a Supplier Quality Technician or Coordinator.
• Experience with inspection, non-conformance documentation, supplier communication, and root cause analysis.
• Proficiency in issuing costs back to suppliers for non-conformance issues.
• Experience with ERP systems and/or supplier portal systems; SAP preferred.
• Familiarity with problem-solving methodologies, such as 8D.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associates or bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality, or related technical field preferred but not required.
• Experience in providing quality support in an automotive tier I JIT/JIS environment.
• Experience in leading PPAP and FMEA processes and documentation.
• Proficiency in identifying potential problems and escalating when necessary.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.

Work Environment

Work is performed Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with some overtime expected, totaling 45 hours a week. While weekend work is not anticipated, suppliers in different time zones may require off-schedule communication.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.
