Looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to support various projects in the surrounding area.
Primary Projects: Paving, Infrastructure, Industrial, Residential, and Commercial.
Responsibilities include site investigation, data collection, analysis, and the ability to provide sound engineering recommendations. Office work includes project coordination, data management, proposal preparation, client consultation and report writing.
Day-to-Day:
60 to 80% in-office, the rest is fieldwork
Direct and execute geotechnical project assignments including field exploration, engineering analysis, report preparation and laboratory services
Provide project level development of proposals and reports
Develop and maintain client relationships
Field and laboratory testing
Data collection and interpretation
Project coordination and management
Oversee junior engineers and technicians in the field
Maximize profitability by ensuring appropriate budgeting/pricing and utilization of resources and cost controls

Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geotechnical, PE, Paving Experience
Additional Skills & Qualifications
MUST HAVES:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a geotechnical emphasis
3-8 years of experience in geotechnical engineering
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven project management skills
Willingness to travel and work flexible hours/shifts on occasion to support project/client needs
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Possess keen computer skills, including spreadsheet development and report generation
Site Investigation and Soil Analysis skills
Geotechnical Engineering and Foundation Design skills
Experience in Engineering Geology
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
BONUS:
Prefer a candidate who has successfully completed the FE exam with plans to obtain a PE license
Experience with paving and structure projects preferred

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
Consistent with our discussions, Testing Engineers & Consultants, Inc. (TEC) is pleased to offer you the position of Staff Engineer in our Geotechnical Services Group. The terms of our offer are detailed in the TEC Employment Handbook and summarized as follows:
1. Salary of $80,000 annually, based on an average of 45 hours/week. You will have a performance evaluation after your first 90 days, and scheduled performance evaluations from time to time thereafter.
2. 5 days paid vacation after 6 months and an additional 5 days at your 1-year anniversary; 10 days paid vacation allotted annually thereafter upon your anniversary date.
3. Six paid holidays/year, one sick/personal day allotted quarterly.
4. A co-pay HMO health /dental plan is available. Must be elected within 30 days upon employment and initiates the first of the month after 30 days of employment. Co-pay premium is currently $30.00/week for a single employee. Vision insurance is also a benefit provided.
5. Short-term disability and long-term disability.
6. Life insurance coverage equal to one year’s compensation.
7. Participation in the 401K plan upon eligibility as follows: after 1 year of continuous full-time employment. Current company match is 100% of the employees first 2% contribution and 50% match of the employees next 4% contribution.
