Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Software Engineer to join our Submarine Program team. This role involves collaborating with a cross-functional team to research, design, develop, and test software and tools. The position focuses on creating new work products or enhancing existing applications, systems, or embedded products.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, and test software and tools as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Create new work products or enhance existing applications, systems, or embedded products.
  • Code, test, and document software solutions to advance technology.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance within the team.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Science, Engineering, or Mathematics.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree.
  • Proficiency in C++ and at least two of the following: JavaScript (especially React), Linux (especially Redhat), Microservice development, Spring Boot, or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • U.S. citizenship and Department of Defense Secret security clearance required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of software development process and software engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to apply new information to solve challenging problems.
  • Comfortable providing technical leadership and being a team player in collaborative environments.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Work Environment

This position is based onsite in Manassas, with the option of a 9/80 work schedule. The role involves working within a well-funded program that emphasizes the creation of new technologies and code rather than legacy coding.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $52.00/hr.
