Job Title: Process Engineer

Job Description

The Process Engineer is responsible for enhancing the quality, efficiency, yield, and operating ratio of TTR coating processes within a 24/7 manufacturing operation. Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, the Process Engineer will lead efforts in testing and qualification of new products and processes, improving existing performance, and reducing losses.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate current equipment and production processes by designing and conducting testing programs.
  • Develop operating instructions and equipment specifications for production activities.
  • Provide training, guidance, and engineering support to the operations team.
  • Maintain a production parameter database to determine process control limits.
  • Provide monthly feedback to management staff on coating quality and efficiency.
  • Develop process improvement plans based on data analysis.
  • Resolve quality issues during production.
  • Perform shift walkthroughs and reports.
  • Identify and correct potential safety concerns.
  • Perform product changeovers on the coating machine, including roll exchanges and cleaning.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and implement cost reduction initiatives.
  • Maximize productivity of machinery and staff while maintaining quality standards.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Ability to develop designs and create engineering drawings using CAD software.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and cost analysis.
  • Experience in repairing and troubleshooting equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience generating and implementing ISO procedures.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and NEC preferred.
  • Experience in Web Converting, Paper/Pulp Converting, or similar environments preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate 24/7 manufacturing operations.
  • Mechanical and troubleshooting aptitude.
  • Experience in mixing/blending chemicals preferred.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a high-stress team environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret job orders, specifications, and production schedules.
  • Proficiency in entering data into computerized ERP systems and manual work orders.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Work Environment

On-site 5 days/week.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
