This critical role is responsible for overseeing Ford’s Software/Feature/ Electrical processes. This process outlines the fundamental process standards and steps employed by Ford to execute Software, Features and Electrical Systems. In the role of Process SME, you will support programs worldwide in executing the process efficiently with quality and be required to continually enhance and improve the process. This requires a high degree of collaboration, strong decision-making skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

What you'll do...

  • Champion and continuously lead improvements to Ford’s Software/Feature/ Electrical Product Development System. Lead integration of agile process Software/Feature/ Electrical Enablers to improve Product Development Fitness. Work cross-functionally to implement the world’s best Technology/Software/Feature integration within an Automotive Product Development process.
  • Coach/govern programs on the execution of the Software/Feature/ Electrical processes. Act as an internal consultant, guiding program teams through issues that arise during the transition from concept to customer.
  • Develop, implement and incorporate key Software/Features/Electrical metrics into Ford’s Global Product Development System’s Dashboard to drive on-time completion of the Software/Features/Electrical processes.
  • Implement Software/Feature/EESE Workstream training for Ford’s Global Product Development Process (GPDS) to ensure programs and functional activities have a comprehensive understanding of the GPDS Software/Features/EESE process, including its logic and potential error states.
  • Lead the development of the cross-functional commodity plans to reduce commodity engineering/tool/test times to improve Time-to-Market.
  • Lead the cross-functional workstream that reviews and approves the corporate Design Validation (DV) Exception List detailing the allowable DV elements that can be executed post Final Engineering Confirmation (FEC).
  • Lead the cross-functional workstream that reviews and approves program Production Tooling Exceptions for the Development Completion Vehicle(DCV) Build. Maintain the corporate Prototype Tooling Exception List detailing which commodities are allowed prototype tooling for the Development Completion Vehicle (DCV) Build.
  • Implement AI Tools for Ford’s Global Product Development Process.

You'll have...

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering preferred.
  • 15 years experience Automotive PD Process Development and Engineering

Even better, you may have...

  • Master's Degree in Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering or Master's in Business Administration.
  • Experience delivering program’s with highly integrated software.
  • Experience in Design and Release Engineering processes within the Automotive Industry.
  • Experience with JIRA.
  • Deep understanding of Automotive Product Development Systems.
  • Experience in developing Automotive Procedures and Standards.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills including PowerPoint presentation development.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and solution implementation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
