Wood is currently recruiting for an Instrumentation & Controls Tech Prof IV – Eng in Greenville, SC to coordinate Instruments and Controls (I&C) engineering activities with our Bogota, Colombia office.

Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.

Multiple positions available.

Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.

Travel: Domestic travel required up to 15% and international travel required up to 5% to visit production facilities and client sites.

  • Identify and manage Design Change Orders.
  • Contribute to resource management and planning.
  • Assist with quality control of all deliverables within the scope of I&C.
  • Interface with Project Management and client and liaise with other project disciplines.
  • Oversee the development of loop diagrams, control panel layouts, instrument location plans, Industrial Network design, and database design/administration.
  • Assist in preparation of I&C cost estimates and defining scopes of work for project design and study proposals.
  • Prepare I&C equipment specifications, Data Sheets, Purchase Requisitions and bid evaluations as required.
  • Review vendor documents.
  • Develop construction scopes of work and coordinate with construction subcontractors.
  • Build internal and external relationships with key suppliers, customers and internal and external service providers or contractors.
  • Work with I&C engineers, technologists, and designers to provide I&C design and deliverables to a variety of projects.

Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or a related field, and 5 years of related work experience.

Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience in each of the following:

  • Preparing construction work packages for contractors
  • Managing progress reporting for contractor task completion
  • Acting as a liaison between clients, vendors, and contractors
  • Tracking scope and creating project change notices when scope deviates from as-sold scope.

Of the required experience, must also have 2 years of experience in each of the following:

  • Creating project schedules for I&C deliverables
  • Developing and reviewing design specifications which must include Instrumentation Design Criteria, Control System Design Criteria, and I&C Requirements
  • Developing and managing database lists which must include Instrument Index, IO Lists, and Cable Schedules
  • Specifying instrumentation datasheets for various technology types, including Valves, Flow, Level, Temperature, Pressure, and Analytical
  • Developing and reviewing instrumentation drawings, which must include Wiring Diagrams, Loop Sheets, Control System Architectures, Panel Layouts, Instrument Installation Details,
  • Instrument Location Plans, and Control Room Layouts

Of the required experience, must also have 1 year of experience in each of the following:

  • Supporting start-up and commissioning activities which must include preparing and managing check out documentation; and
  • Utilizing Excel for creating and managing deliverables and utilizing VLOOKUP and pivot tables for instrumentation data tracking and reporting.
