The IT Business Relationship Analyst serves as a critical liaison between the information technology (IT) department and business units within the organization. This role involves understanding business needs, providing insights into technology capabilities, and facilitating the successful resolution of IT business concerns and the delivery of IT services and solutions that enhance business operations and drive value.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in providing IT strategic and planning support to all SMUD business units through tactical and strategic planning analysis, ensuring technology and business strategy convergence produces high value.
There are two (2) levels in this job classification series that have similar job content but with progressively more challenging degrees and levels of skill, responsibility, knowledge, experience, and qualification requirements:
Flex Classifications (that permit progression from lower-level classes to higher level classes without examination based upon assessment of an individual's experience and performance) within the series:
Entry to Journey: Incumbents at the entry level are required to successfully “progress” to the journey level within 60 months of appointment to remain within the job series.
Bachelor's degree majoring in Computer Science, MIS/BIS, Business, or a related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience. If no degree, 5 or more (5+) years of relevant experience is required.
At least one (1+) year experience acquiring the necessary knowledge and skills to perform the essential functions listed above.
Basic IT concepts; how business works; basic data analysis.

Hybrid Work
This position will be required to work onsite one or more days a week on a regular basis; sometimes more or less, depending on the work and, at any of our SMUD locations.
