The Senior Medical Area Scientist plays a crucial role in shaping the medical strategy for our organization. This position involves providing expert medical advice and insights to support global clinical development and commercial efforts. The Medical Scientist collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including research, regulatory, and marketing, to ensure the successful development and launch of innovative products. This role is pivotal in maintaining our commitment to scientific excellence and patient-centric approaches within the competitive landscape of global healthcare.

Primary Duties

  • Strategic Medical Leadership: Leads the development and execution of comprehensive medical plans across multiple products or therapeutic areas. Establishes medical priorities and effectively communicates the strategic medical value across internal and external functions.
  • Scientific & Regulatory Excellence: Oversees medical contributions to feasibility assessments, clinical validation efforts, and regulatory submissions, ensuring the highest level of scientific rigor and compliance with global standards.
  • Risk Management & Medical Governance: Provides expert medical input into hazard definition, risk management protocols, field action boards, and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes, ensuring patient safety and regulatory adherence.
  • Industry Engagement & Thought Leadership: Represents Medical Affairs in global cross-functional teams, spearheading strategic initiatives and fostering strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), medical societies, and scientific communities to advance medical innovation and advocacy.

Minimum Experience Required:

  • Master’s degree in healthcare related field required
    • Advanced healthcare degree (PharmD, MD, PhD, or equivalent) preferred
    • Additional post-doctorate training or professional certification in a specialized area is advantageous
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in medical affairs, clinical development, or a related function in IVD, Medical Device or Pharma8+ years of relevant experience in medical affairs, clinical development, or a related function in IVD, Medical Device or Pharma
  • 1+ years of experience in medical strategy development, including KOL (Key Opinion Leader) engagement, medical communication, and advisory boards
  • 1+ years experience in generating and interpreting medical insights to shape product strategy
