The Rooms Controller is responsible for the assigning of guest rooms in alignment with guest requests and room availability. This position requires close communication with the Housekeeping, Engineering and other departments to ensure guest satisfaction. This includes assigning rooms for groups and special events, ensuring any special requests have been actioned and communicated to all relevant internal departments.
This position also involves working closely with the Front Office team leaders and managers to complete operational duties such as following up on Open Folios, Open balances, clearing the deposit ledger, assisting with guest queries, responding to requests from other departments etc. and assisting with check-ins and checkouts when needed.
Knowledge of Opera and Reserve is preferred as the Rooms Controller needs to be able to work independently and must be skilled at both verbal and written communication. The Rooms Controller also needs to be organized and able to work in a fast paced environment being courteous to guests and colleagues alike.
