THE ROLE:

As an In-Room Dining Order Taker at Park Hyatt Chicago, you are the first voice of our private dining experience—setting the tone for elegant, personalized service that reflects the highest standards of luxury. You will be responsible for warmly greeting guests over the phone, guiding them through our curated in-room dining menu, accurately processing orders, and coordinating seamless service between culinary and service teams.

This role requires refined communication skills, an eye for detail, and a deep understanding of hospitality. You’ll be expected to anticipate guest needs, handle special requests with care, and ensure every order is executed with precision and timeliness. Whether assisting with late-night cravings or breakfast with a city view, you will play a vital role in creating meaningful, memorable moments for each guest.

WAGE INFORMATION:

The hourly rate for this position is $25.90. This position is also eligible to earn overtime and premium pay under certain circumstances.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in in-room dining, guest services, or reservations within a luxury hotel environment is preferred. Must be comfortable handling high volumes of guest calls while maintaining composure, accuracy, and a warm, polished demeanor.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage warmly and clearly with guests, anticipate needs, and resolve inquiries with grace and precision.
  • Multilingual Advantage: Fluency in additional languages is a valuable asset and enhances our ability to deliver a tailored guest experience in a globally recognized luxury setting.
  • Service Excellence: A steadfast commitment to delivering Forbes Five-Star caliber service, with meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to guest satisfaction.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately capture guest orders, including special requests and dietary restrictions, ensuring flawless execution from order placement through delivery.
  • Team Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills to coordinate seamlessly with culinary and service departments, ensuring a smooth, elevated in-room dining experience.
  • Professionalism: Maintains a polished and professional demeanor reflective of Park Hyatt Chicago’s distinguished brand identity.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) systems, with the ability to quickly and accurately enter guest orders, including modifications and special requests. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook) and the ability to navigate hotel systems confidently.
  • Flexibility: Availability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, in alignment with operational needs and guest expectations.
