Director Programming - The Rock at La Cantera

Under general supervision of the General Manager, the Director Programming will interact continuously with clients, promoters, artist's agent and artist's managers in efforts to solidify business for The Rock at La Cantera, to include the Frost Plaza and Gunn Family Park. The Director of Programming will play a critical role in executing our mission of connecting communities through experiences inspired by the spirit of the Spurs.

What You'll Do:

  • Curate and Create programing that advances the vision for The Rock: A gathering place dedicated to human potential, by connecting communities through experiences inspired by the spirit of the Spurs, for the advancement of human, humans, and humanity.
  • Negotiate programming deals with promoters, clients, and/or agents at the direction of the General Manager while obtaining a full understanding of programming deal points and agreements
  • Distribute booking sheets and event related information to personnel, and work well within a cross-functional team
  • Establish and strengthen relationships with prospective promoters, agents, managers and individuals in the community to initiate the sales effort and follow-up on leads generated by outside sources
  • Coordinate the execution of event agreements (to include tracking of contract, deposits and insurance) and compile all necessary event documents for each event
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited four-year college or university in marketing, public relations, business administration, public administration or related field and seven (7) years industry experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrate knowledge of principles, practices and terminology of public relations programs, advertising, marketing, sales presentation techniques, public speaking and operations of live entertainment
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, fans and others encountered in the course of employment
  • Operate a personal computer using Windows and Microsoft Office software
  • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results
  • Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative
  • The ability to work independently and coordinate multiple tasks
  • Experience in supervising food and beverage operation experience preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays in addition to normal business hour, as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand/sit/walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 30 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • This role is based in San Antonio - 20% of the job duties can be performed remotely, 80% of the work performed onsite as needed or based on event load.
