Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 3 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. The ideal candidate will reside in the Atlanta, GA metro area.

The Director II Sales – State Accounts is responsible for account management retention activities for two of the largest complex accounts in Georgia/Enterprise. This role will direct sales and value added services to these robust clients with appropriate medical and specialty products. Manages over 100 million annually in client administrative premiums.

How you will make an impact:

This position will lead and oversee two of Georgia's largest and most visible accounts, the State Health Benefit Plan and the University System of Georgia. Collectively representing approximately 550k members, these two accounts are critical to our organization's success and demand a high level of expertise in the following areas:

  • Account Management - Acting as the primary liaison ensuring seamless communication and delivery of services.
  • Relationship Building - Maintaining strong, positive relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strategic Leadership - Providing visionary leadership and strategic direction for both accounts, aligning our solutions with their evolving needs and objectives.
  • Public Interaction - Representing the organization in public and governmental settings to ensure we are both visible and positively perceived by the public and state officials.
  • Problem Solving - Addressing and resolving any issues or concerns that arise, working proactively to prevent future occurrences while ensuring member satisfaction and the integrity of services.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making - Utilizing data and analytics to drive decision-making, optimize services, and identify opportunities to enhance the value we deliver to these accounts.
  • Collaboration - Working closely with internal teams to ensure that the objectives of the accounts are realized effectively and efficiently.
  • Team Builder - Recruits, develops and manages professional staff to drive market results. Develops a strong culture amongst the team, demonstrating discipline, results orientation, team work, the ability to strongly advocate for client and market needs, while building strong relationships internally.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 8 years of professional/leadership experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Excellent managerial and leadership skills strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience and understanding of the complexities of State Accounts is strongly preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and well organized preferred.
  • Proven track record in achieving sales, retention or business results preferred.
  • Experience with managing Market/Broker relationships preferred.
