Salary Range: $160,000.00 To $180,000.00 Annually
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Cloud Operations and DevOps to lead the transformation of our cloud infrastructure and DevOps processes. In this role, you will be responsible for aligning cloud operations with the organization’s strategic goals while driving the adoption of DevOps practices across development and operations teams. You will oversee a high-performing team, optimize cloud resources, and ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of our cloud platforms and applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the vision and strategy for cloud operations and DevOps practices, ensuring alignment with business goals. Provide leadership to cross-functional teams that are responsible for managing cloud infrastructure, automation, CI/CD pipelines, and related services.
- Cloud Infrastructure Oversight: Lead the management, optimization, and governance of the cloud environment (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.). Ensure the cloud architecture is robust, scalable, secure, and cost-efficient to meet current and future business needs.
- DevOps Transformation: Spearhead the implementation and continuous improvement of DevOps best practices, including CI/CD pipeline management, automation, and collaboration between development and operations teams.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure the cloud platform runs smoothly and with minimal downtime by implementing effective monitoring, incident response, and troubleshooting processes. Promote automation to reduce manual interventions and improve operational efficiency.
- Team Leadership and Development: Build, lead, and mentor high-performing teams responsible for cloud operations, infrastructure management, DevOps automation, and application deployment. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Cloud Security & Compliance: Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure the organization’s cloud environments adhere to industry regulations, security standards, and best practices. Manage risk and ensure data privacy and security across all cloud platforms.
- Cost Optimization: Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure spending to ensure the company’s cloud resources are utilized efficiently. Implement cost management best practices and tools to track cloud expenses and minimize waste.
- Automation & Tools: Champion the automation of deployment, monitoring, scaling, and maintenance processes using industry-standard tools (Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Kubernetes, etc.). Continuously assess and implement new tools to enhance performance and productivity.
- Collaboration with Development and IT Teams: Work closely with product, development, and IT teams to ensure the seamless delivery of applications, services, and infrastructure. Facilitate a culture of collaboration between teams to accelerate time to market and improve operational agility.
- Incident & Problem Management: Take ownership of high-priority incidents and issues, leading efforts to resolve problems and prevent future occurrences. Use a data-driven approach to improve system reliability and reduce downtime.
- Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Oversee disaster recovery and backup strategies for cloud environments to ensure data integrity and operational continuity in case of failures or disruptions.
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in cloud computing, DevOps, and related technologies. Advocate for and implement innovative solutions that improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer experiences.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in cloud operations, IT infrastructure, or DevOps.
- 5+ years in a leadership role managing cloud infrastructure, DevOps teams, or related areas.
- Proven track record of managing and optimizing large-scale cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Extensive experience with CI/CD pipeline management, automation, and DevOps best practices.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, containers, Kubernetes, and microservices.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
- Solid experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
- Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Experience in setting up and managing monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Deep understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.
- Soft Skills:

- Strong strategic thinking and the ability to align technology with business objectives.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision making.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with other teams.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Target Compensation: $160,000-180,000
Please note that this range reflects a reasonable estimate of the target compensation for this position. This range may ultimately vary based on a candidate’s qualifications and may be higher where required by applicable law.
