Description

JOB PURPOSE

The Accessory Product Planner (Long-term Temporary Assignment) will be responsible for developing and presenting MPA accessory product plans. The Planner will create new product plans in accordance with OEM product guides and specifications, and in consideration of historical sales data and competitor offerings within the vehicle segment with an emphasis on advanced technologies. The successful candidate will also be responsible for initiating investigations of accessory concepts and performing research and analysis to assist in vetting potential new accessories. This position requires excellent communication skills.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Generate & present new vehicle product plans according to industry and market trends. Needs to be aware of new product offerings and activities to suggest direction for future vehicles. Needs to know all marketable and technical features to present product plans to key stakeholders. (20%)
  • Generate & present new concept package reports with thorough investigation of business case, potential risk level, customer interest, supplier availability, installation complexity, competitor availability and idea source. (20%)
  • Develop business cases and manage profitability reviews for current and future projects aligning with changing product plan and OEM approved list. Responsible for accuracy of the data, ensuring program meets any profitability goals defined by HOD. (20%)
  • Curate intel from Brand Planning (i.e. technical/design/functionality/use case details) while transmitting information into Product Plan. (15%)
  • Generate & present trend reports as requested with concise and related information with clear benefit to current or future applications. Focus on new product & concept strategy/roadmap to drive revenue and profits in the short, mid, and long term according to Head of Department. (15%)
  • Provide general administrative support for the Accessory Planning Department, such as taking meeting minutes and distributing to key stakeholders. (10%)

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

KPI’s (subject to change): Proposed Revenue & Profits vs. Final OEM Acceptance, New Concept Launch, On-Time Planning

  • Develop comprehensive and effective product planning proposals by utilizing in-depth market and competitive analysis to best deliver compelling recommendations and business cases suitable for presentation to senior management and OEM counterparts.
  • Ensure on-time deliverables and presentation of product plans and new accessory concepts.
  • Coordinate meetings with relevant departments in order to develop strategies for product improvements and new features, based on competitive analysis and market research.
  • Develop, maintain, and champion new accessory concept packages based on segment analysis, product positioning, customer insight, potential revenue & profit implications (optimal point between volume & profitability) and other key factors to further develop available product line-up.
  • Monitor and analyze market sales, industry developments, competitive actions and other key factors in order to prepare & create extensive recommendations (presentations) concerning new products and planning strategies.
  • Create & manage departmental plan/proposal/project logs and update accordingly.
  • Regularly communicate and act as liaison with Mobis HQ (Korea); communication includes but not limited to standard emails, weekly updates, bi-weekly video conferences, etc.
  • Ad-hoc projects as assigned by supervisor and manager.

WORK SCHEDULE/TRAVEL

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
  • Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.

Required Qualifications

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree required in business statistics, market research, vehicle engineering, or other related subjects.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Preferred candidate would have experience in automotive accessory business with strong background in mechanical & technical understanding of automotive along with solid experience in creating information from raw data.
  • Knowledge of vehicle and accessory lifecycles within a wholesale environment is necessary.
  • A strong background in interpersonal communications is required as executive & brand communications will be a key deliverable for this position.

SKILLS

  • High competency and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Advanced knowledge of electronic communication, data gathering, and reporting methods.
  • Strong analytical skill set, ideally with experience in statistical methodology as it relates to data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Previous experience/knowledge of market segmentation and research fundamentals, as well as experience analyzing key data to provide recommendations to build a sound business case.
  • Must have the ability to understand a target audience in order to create compelling and effective presentation materials.
  • High level of attention to detail with strong ability to communicate, as it relates to accessory business environment and automotive industry experience
  • Must have strong and effective organization, negotiation, and communication skills, including ability to interact with Senior and Executive management.
  • Required to be well organized, able to implement and monitor multiple projects/reports at the same time and be able to prioritize assignments to the benefit of the company.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with ability to work well under tight deadlines with speed and accuracy while thriving within a team environment.
  • Ability to work well cross-functionally, manage multiple projects with changing priorities, as well as initiating and completing projects with minimal guidance.
  • Strong results orientation with proven success working in a fast-paced environment.

Employment Type - Non-Exempt

Compensation - Hourly Wage , $54,363.95 - 80,186.82
