Job Description
We offer a merit-based work-from-home program based on job responsibilities. After initial training in-person, this specific role could have the flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.
Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated claims professional to join our team. The position requires the person to:
- Provide training and support on utilizing various systems used in the Claims Division
- Train in both one-on-one and in small group settings in order to provide consistency
- Successfully participate in the planning and implementation of projects
- Participate in the opening and reorganization of Claims branches by attending meetings, travelling, and coordinating other tasks as needed
- Coordinate communication between various departments
- Ability to review claim associates’ work for accuracy in order to provide consistency and identify training opportunities
- Authorize system access
- Initiate solutions to improve procedures
- Provide customer service by being the liaison between claim associates and other divisions
- Utilize various software tools to track service calls and resolutions to problems
- Communicate professionally both in verbal and written form any changes, problems, or enhancements to all involved parties
- Properly handle confidential information
- Solve problems and troubleshoot effectively in order to identify, resolve and bring the task to completion
- Travel for a period consistent with the needs of the company
- Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance within a defined work schedule with the potential of overtime
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree, Associate degree, or equivalent experience
- Effective time management skills
- Ability to understand Auto-Owners’ priorities, corporate structure, and requirements
- Ability to understand verbal and/or written instructions in order to carry a task to completion
- Ability to understand and apply basic math, accounting skills, and read and interpret documents and reports
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize the assigned workload, and take initiative in various situations
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
