Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company, VERSANT, comprised of most of NBCUniversal’s cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

Versant is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Security Manager to lead daily security operations at our Englewood Cliffs, NJ facility. This individual will play a key role in protecting employees, guests, assets, and information while fostering a secure, welcoming environment that aligns with Versant’s dynamic and creative culture. This role will report to the Senior Director, Global Security.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage, lead, and oversee all aspects of security operations at Versant’s Englewood Cliffs campus, including physical security, crisis management, and access control.
  • Supervise on-site security personnel, including contract security staff; ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement site-specific security plans, policies, and emergency response protocols.
  • Collaborate with Versant Global Security, Human Resources, Legal, and Facilities teams on investigations, risk assessments, and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct regular security audits, drills, and trainings for employees and security staff.
  • Act as primary liaison with local law enforcement, emergency services, and government agencies.
  • Manage security-related technology systems such as CCTV, badge access control, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Provide security coverage and logistical support for high-profile events, talent appearances, productions, and crisis situations.
  • Maintain situational awareness of threats and provide timely intelligence updates to leadership.
  • Proper documentation of all incidents
  • Prepare reports, incident logs, and risk assessments for senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding workplace security and safety.
  • Other GSO duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of professional experience in law enforcement, military, corporate security, and/or a related role
  • Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills, dealing effectively with all levels of management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking skills
  • Must be willing to travel, as needed, and at times on short notice including over weekends
  • Must be willing to be on call and available 24/7
  • Valid and active driver’s license
  • Valid U.S. Passport
  • Current and active HR 218 certification
  • Ability to complete and meet company standards for background, reference checks, and drug testing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent relevant professional work experience
  • Proven track record of sound decision making
  • A broad network of contacts throughout local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies
  • Strong working knowledge of emerging trends of corporate security and/or law enforcement
  • Ability to build and sustain excellent relationships at multiple levels and across divisions
  • Self- motivated operator with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced and dynamic setting
  • Operational experience and the ability to respond quickly to security concerns in real time

This position is required to be performed full-time from a Versant-designated worksite.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
