This is a full-time, one-year position as a postdoctoral fellow with the Tulane University Nutrition Program, based in the Department of Social, Behavioral, and Population Sciences. The postdoctoral fellow will engage in quantitative secondary data analysis, literature scoping projects, and community-based studies focusing on nutrition and maternal and child health (MCH) in Louisiana, the Gulf South, and the United States. A qualified candidate should be a nutrition and/or public health professional with experience in MCH research and public health programs. At a minimum, they will need to have completed a PhD and be a Registered Dietitian
Required Education and Experience:
1. PhD in Nutrition, Public Health , or a closely-related field
2. Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
1. Demonstrated ability in literature scoping and quantitative data analysis
2. Knowledge of gold-standard practices for systematic reviews and meta-analyses
3. Demonstrated ability to obtain publicly available data requiring rigorous cleaning, documentation, and advanced statistical analysis
4. Demonstrated ability to write for academic peer-reviewed publications, as well as lay publications.
5. Ability to make presentations for academic and non-academic audiences
6. Ability to manage and lead projects requiring cross-disciplinary expertise
7. Ability to work with community organizations in the field of food and nutrition
Preferred qualifications:
1. Experience with grant proposal development
2. Experience in survey development and dissemination
3. Experience with IRB protocol development
4. Ability to lead data collection efforts
