Supports plant production workstations with forklift assistance in establishing effective material flow and replenishment to achieve premier customer service and lower inventory.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs all assignments in accordance with safety specifications, instructions, and requirements
- Demonstrates ability to meet production standards on specific assignments within required time.
- Maintains good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned space
- Utilize material handling equipment including forklifts, hand trucks, skids, etc. to stage materials and load trucks.
- Load and unloads products as requested on/off truck trailers.
- Stores finished goods in designated spaces in warehouse or manufacturing area.
- Apply knowledge of department policies and procedures to resolve customer and operational concerns/issues as needed.
- Follow Company recommended techniques for lifting, stacking, manipulating and handling materials and operating Powered Industrial Vehicles.
- Assist with performing ancillary duties related to Production Expediting, coordinating the movement of materials throughout the facility.
- Follows safe work procedures for forklift operators.
- Maintains efficient use of time.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements for employment:
- Previous Forklift/Material Handler experience to be successful on the job.
- Plant facility runs 5 days, a week consistently scheduled 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday, excluding designated holidays or prearranged shut down.
- Ability to be on feet consistently 8-hours up to a 12-hour day per scheduled shift.
- Overtime is mandatory when required, may be extending the 8hr shift, or working a 6th day on Saturday.
- Ability to get on and off company equipment, forklift, to load and unload assigned trailers and move product throughout production site.
- Ability to walk, stand, crouch and climb to perform assigned duties.
- Ability to lift to 42lbs.
- Use of hands and fingers to perform job function with hand tools as needed up to full scheduled shift.
- The work environment is inside, however not temperature controlled. Exposed to both heat and cold depending on the daily weather conditions outside.
- The ability to wear all required personal protective equipment for the position they are assigned to each day. This equipment can include some or all: hard hat, ear plugs, safety glasses, face shield, steel toed boots, cut resistant gloves, cut resistant sleeves, apron, and/or Tyvek suit
