Select Digital Social Media Strategist

Job Summary:
The Select Digital Social Media Strategist will work as part of our Select Digital team to provide strategic social media services for our clients. The Select Digital SMM Strategist will be responsible for researching, identifying and implementing emerging SMM trends and tactics.
This role will manage all aspects of day-to-day social media strategy for clients. As part of the Select Digital Team, this individual will create new SMM campaigns, via Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, Google +, Pinterest, Instagram and any other related social media platforms to meet advertiser goals.
Focus areas will include social media monitoring, providing trending and analysis reports, planning, and directing social media campaigns, and increasing website participation and engagement.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable in a client facing role and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. This individual will be required to present strategic SMM implementation plans and reports to our clients, sales reps, and partners via conference calls. Candidate must possess organizational and time management skills as they may be responsible for the management of many Custom SMM & Social Advertising campaigns.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
A BA/BS Degree preferred. A minimum of one year of experience in a professional environment. Experience with Social Media Marketing is preferred, but not required. Candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent writing, copy editing, and proofreading skills are required.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
The incumbent/candidate must have a detailed work ethic, be highly motivated, well organized and be able to communicate effectively with a diverse group of individual customers, as well as all levels of employees. Candidate must have solid time management and written/oral communication skills. Computer skills are required for this position. Mastery of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Photoshop, needed. A strong understanding of HTML, CSS, Javascript, server side data and PHP is preferred but not required. Knowledge and experience with all relevant social media platforms is preferred but not required. Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and resources are required.
In accordance with applicable law, Hearst is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role if hired in New York State. The reasonable estimate range, if hired in New York State, is $42,000-$46,000. A final decision on the successful candidate’s starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills and experience, training, certifications, and education.
