Curious to learn more? This Imagineer is responsible for providing projects with structural engineering support from the early phases of design up until the end of construction! This includes design, analysis, and specifications for structural steel, concrete, masonry and timber buildings, structures and other miscellaneous items of an individual facility/attraction, land, or theme park project. This position is a project-based role ending when the project is completed.

In this role, the Senior Structural Engineer will report to the Manager, Structural Engineering.

What You Will Do

  • Be responsible for performing engineering design and calculation tasks in support of project phase deliverables with little or no supervision. This role may potentially lead a small team of engineers and designers (internal or external) in the support of this effort depending on project size and complexity
  • Ensure technical quality and conformance to department standards, procedures, and specifications
  • Monitor progress of work within the project team and ensure that technical quality, interdisciplinary coordination, schedule, and budget are maintained
  • Participate in vendor selection including bid evaluation, interviews, and requests for information
  • Perform construction administrative functions such as reviewing and responding to shop drawings, submittals, and request for information
  • Identify and assist with resolution of structural related issues such as clashes and scope gaps during design and construction phases
  • May have Engineer of Record responsibility

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Professional registration as a California PE
  • 6 or more years of proven experience in structural engineering, including experience in high seismic zones.
  • Minimum of 2 years leading structural engineers and designers in the production of contract documents for construction
  • Varied structural engineering design and analysis experience in the areas of concrete, steel, masonry, and wood structures
  • Construction phase experience including the submittal/shop drawing review process and on-site field inspections
  • Knowledge of industry practices, construction methods and materials, codes, and current industry technology
  • Proficiency with structural analysis and design software such as Revit, ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, RISA, and Navisworks
  • Adept at problem solving and creative thinking
  • Ability to work independently and to thrive in a highly collaborative, multi-discipline project team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8 or more years of shown experience in Structural Engineering
  • Registration as a California SE

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited engineering school with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • An advanced degree in the structural engineering field desired, but not required

The hiring range for this position in California is $113,800 to $152,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
