The Hynes Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation Entrepreneurs-in-Residence (EIR) Mentoring Program serves as a guiding force for Iona students pursuing entrepreneurial endeavors, both in and outside of the classroom. Whether ideating in the classroom or ready to launch a business, the EIRs will be there every step of the way – providing resources, access, and achievable goals to get our students to the next level. The EIR should be an accomplished entrepreneur or entrepreneurial leader with a proven track record in developing, launching and growing business ventures, and with strong connections to the local and regional entrepreneurship ecosystem.

For the fall 2025 semester, the Hynes Institute seeks EIRs to support Iona students’ entrepreneurial ideas, projects and ventures, the ENT capstone courses, the student entrepreneurship club (CEO), and foster experiential learning spaces and program where students can explore, build, and launch entrepreneurial projects.

The EIR will be working closely with the associate and assistant directors to:

  • Serve as a resource, coach and mentor for Iona students through group and one-on-one meetings at the Hynes Institute.
  • Serve as one of the lead mentors for the participating student teams for IIC 2025 through weekly one-on-one meetings. Connect students to other mentors to support their ideas and entrepreneurial development.
  • Be a resource to students enrolled in one of the capstone courses (ENT 401, 402 & 702)
  • Facilitate and host student/faculty workshops or teach-ins as needed.
  • Establish linkages to the local and regional entrepreneurship community to support students experiential learning on/off campus (e.g., guest speakers, meetups, consulting and co-op projects, internships).
  • Connect students with the local business community and resources to improve viability and professionalism of ideas and strategies.

Residency requirements: Establish the equivalency of one day (8 hours per week) on campus.

Duration: 15 weeks during the semester

Compensation: $9,000 ($600 per week)
