The General Labourer is a full-time, onsite position based at the plant, working on a rotating 4-on, 4-off schedule (two days, two nights, followed by four days off). Each shift runs from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

This role operates in a dynamic, fast-paced, and noisy environment that requires a high level of alertness and adaptability. The position is physically demanding and involves frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting items weighing up to 25 kg. Candidates must be comfortable working in an environment with significant sensory stimuli and be able to maintain focus and productivity throughout extended shifts.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work safely and efficiently as part of a team in a busy plant setting.

What you’ll be doing.

  • Responsible for following all safety requirements.
  • Material handling of 25 kg boxes and bags.
  • Responsible for following change over policy and requirements.
  • Responsible for some sanitation duties
  • Trouble shoot, adjust and maintain equipment as required.
  • Must follow “Good Manufacturing Practices” (GMP’s) and Critical Control Points (CCP’s).
  • Ensure SQCDPE targets are met by understanding and goal setting of KPI’s.
  • Relay information to other Team members as an area Lead (Key Area Resource).
  • Follow JHA’s and work safely. Participate in STEP program (Behavioral safety observations)
  • Dealing with production issues, working in a fast-paced team environment
  • Participate in Team meetings, as required.
  • Responsible for the yearly completion of the Performance Excellence Program (PEP) training and evaluation.
  • Complete core curriculum E-learning courses

What you’ll need to be successful.

  • Grade 12 education or GED
  • Basic computer skills would be an asset
  • Ability to work well with plant supervision and production employees
  • Team player with excellent attendance
  • Successful completion of 90-day training period
  • Must have good mathematical skills and complete production forms accurately and neatly
  • Demonstrate continuous initiatives and involvement
  • Highly motivated, observant with good initiative and a positive attitude.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment adapting to and embracing change as it occurs.
  • Willing to work shift work; nights and weekends.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess a good safety record and demonstrate “safety first’’ on a continual basis.

Compensation Package: $18.69 - $20.35 CAD hourly

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs.

Shift Differential Pay: $0.50 (If applicable)
