Primary Purpose: Construct Frames to support and transport homes/Install gas lines
JOB DUTIES:
Unload steel I-beam and cut to correct length Load steel on the jib and splice steel (if necessary)
Stamp numbers on header and load header on jig Lay out clips and place cross members in frame
Set steel and header properly and set temporary cross braces
Start at front of jig and weld clips, outriggers and cross member braces
Set hitch or draw bar through header Set jacks and safety chains; add flat bar (optional)
Pull 100-foot tape to set hangers; weld hangers Chip slag from hangers and main splices
Lay & install axles on frame, bolts and equalizers Preform other duties as required
Jack up frame appropriately and weld in camber Pull brake wire, wire brake axle, and lower cam jack
Install and tighten tires Perform operational brake test
Remove safety jack, chain and temporary brace Hook up hoist and remove frame from jig
Hook up wires to frame Construct gas lines to print and install
Must be able to perform transportation repairs offsite
Paint frames
FOR DETACHABLE HITCH ONLY:
Place plates (7x7 and 4x7) on hitch jig Cut I –beam, place it on hitch jig and set coupler
Lay out nuts, washers and bolts
Weld coupler and jack, weld plates Lay out nuts, washers and bolts
Perform other duties as required Bolt up plate, remove from jig and chip slag
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Must be 18 years old Experience preferred.
SAFETY / ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possible eye burn and flesh burn Uncontrolled climate
EQUIPMENT / MACHINES USED:
Hoist and crane Welding machine Cutting torch
Lag guns General hand tools
TESTING REQUIRED:
Drug Screen Hearing Test
COGNITIVE SKILLS:
Good reasoning skills Be able to read Blue Prints Read a Tape Measure
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
No sitting except breaks and lunch
Must be able to lift and carry 100 pounds
Must have normal use of hands
Must be able to weld
Moderate amount of stretching and bending
