A Brief Overview
RN with current NJ license, Bachelors preferred, bilingual, experienced with development of community education programs.
What You Will Do
- Responsible for maintaining a current scientific knowledge base practice.
- Scheduling & preparation of workshops and handouts - including service lines specific HNMC content
- Presentation of workshops to to lay professional groups-day, evening or weekends
- Active follow-up to stay involved at least semi-annually with community groups
- Seek out new opportunities, locations, groups for HNMC presence & participation
- Participate in additional community events as requested by Director and/or VP.
- Active on-going participant in relevant community organizations & events in HNMC's primary and secondary service areas to provide an active presence/participation of HNMC
- Participate within HNMC in groups, workshops, etc. in support of departments of HNMC community wellness initiatives
- Participate in the work of HOP ( Hispanic Outreach Program) Familia Y Salud/education and AHS( Asian Health Services)
- Serve as staff support to identify community outreach programs
- Collaborate and assist Community Health Director and all other departments in specific Community Outreach programs, health fairs and events
- Maintain monthly record and activities as require for Board report and community benefit
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree BSN preferred
Experience Qualifications
- Experience in community education/ department at a health care facility plus excellent computer skills. required
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Commitment to the mission of HNMC and ability to convey that mission & the services of HNMC.
- Promote the service lines of HNMC and new services as directed. Promote the Holy Name Physicians Network. Build long -term, ongoing relationships with community stakeholders and organizations by providing services through workshops, lectures, health fairs, lunch & learns, keynote addresses etc.
- Skills in coalition-building and collaboration in diverse communities and with organizations in Bergen, Hudson, and Passaic counties.
- Public speaking skills AND the ability to translate scientific knowledge effectively to lay audiences.
- Maintain current scientific and best practice knowledge for primary prevention & screening and current treatment & self-care for a broad range of medical, behavioral and health related conditions.
Licenses and Certifications
- RN - Registered Nurse current NJ license upon hire required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support upon hire required
