HIM CLERK

Health Information Mgmt.

The HIM CLERK will:

  • Be responsible for the daily retrieval and reconciliation of medical records from all units using discharged reports.
  • Provide reports to management of missing, held and/or signed out medical
  • records.
  • Work directly with coding and unit staff for needed medical records.
  • Be responsible for mail and loose sheet collection.
  • Be responsible for fetal monitoring strip collection and other storage needs.
  • Be responsible for Birth Record discharge process.
  • Support Correspondence area with data entry, phone calls and patient walk ins.
  • Prep and scan medical records and Correspondence, timely and accurately.
  • Be computer proficient to research accounts for record retrieval, patient activity, dates of service, insurance information, etc.

Requirements:

  • HIM experience preferred.
  • Computer knowledge essential preferably in a healthcare environment. Standard office equipment proficient.
  • Must possess strong analytical and concentration skills, be detail oriented, and have the ability to accept and adjust to change.
  • Must demonstrate a willingness to learn, to accept constructive feedback and to strive for excellence.
  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary to relate to peers, visitors, physicians and hospital personnel in a professional manner.
  • Ability to maintain existing terminal digit file system for discharged.

Salary Range: 17.00 - 22.95 USD

We offer competitive base rates that are determined by many factors, including job-related work experience, internal equity, and industry-specific market data. In addition to base salary, some positions may be eligible for clinical certification pay and shift differentials.

The salary range listed for exempt positions reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.
