The Operations Support Supervisor is responsible for improving the productivity, quality, performance, and profitability of company operations and service offerings by applying methods and analysis to a variety of business opportunities and problems. This opening will support the New England region. Operations Support Supervisors at Star Group typically focus on projects in process analysis and improvement, and business intelligence and analytics. The successful candidate will possess a record of related academic focus and leadership experience combined with demonstrated interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Functions & Responsibilities

Apply Operations knowledge and skill to gather and analyze information to improve company and customer processes and results.

Develop ways of measuring and communicating operational effectiveness that generate business insight for the organization.

Identify and define business process improvement project opportunities.

Communicate and sell improvement ideas to key decision makers.

Obtain feedback on proposed improvement ideas.

Design process, system, and technology solutions to meet customer and company business needs.

Help implement and anchor business process, system, and technology improvement projects.

Measure and report the results (costs and benefits) of implemented projects.

Candidate would be responsible for developing and implementing processes through use of lay-outs, time studies, etc.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business management related field, preferred
  • 3+ years of proven experience in a field operations position
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Solid presentation skills as it relates to relaying business data.
  • Business acumen
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • High attention to detail and solution oriented
  • Proactive qualities with the willingness to learn
  • Ability to work well under pressure and with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products and Google application software
  • Experience with database, or similar software is beneficial.
  • Ability to travel throughout the New England footprint as needed (CT, MA, RI, NY)
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and meet the company’s motor vehicle policy
