JOB SUMMARY
Position Purpose Summary:
The Inventory Control Administrator is responsible for maintaining the balance of inventory and demand, monitoring available materials and ensuring the accuracy of inventory. The role carries responsibility for working with sales and dispatch to ensure necessary functions are carried out correctly. This role also requires working with logistics and dispatch to handle routing exceptions for customer deliveries and working directly with the Oracle Transportation Management System Planner.
KEY TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working directly with the OTM system planner to verify and amend daily logistics routes for the branch.
- Working with the sales and Operations team to ensure customer orders are routed appropriately with all changes or exceptions included in the driver routes for the following day.
- Communicating daily routes to the sales staff each day.
- Analyze inventory levels and work with sales staff to ensure product availability and minimize inventory costs.
- Performing regular cycle counts and ensuring adjustments are made when necessary.
- Identifying and processing damaged inventory using BlueLinx processes and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and location for easy retrieval.
- Balance the inventory daily with yard/warehouse personnel and adjust inventory to physical count.
- Assist yard/warehouse staff in locating items that may have incorrect locations or inventory numbers.
- Ensure work orders are correct and fully completed and that all stock has been allocated to the job correctly.
- Collaborate with sales staff when required to revise production schedules due to material shortages, backlogs or other interruptions.
- Ensure materials are ready and available for remanufacturing production when required.
- Ensure any materials that are holding up remanufacturing production for whatever reason are chased and followed up until received.
- Process remanufacturing orders after material is released from Reman and cost the finished product accordingly.
- Participate in physical inventories and reconciling the inventory records for a complete and accurate count.
- Coordinating drop-off and pick-up of trucks and trailers in/out of the shop.
- Dispatching tire repair and roadside service as needed.
- Communicating with drivers on delivery discrepancies.
- Adjusting delivery routes in coordination with the Route Planner
- Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly inventory control reporting to the Operations Manager and GM

Certifications:
Education Requirements:
HS Diploma with 2-4 years experience in the lumber distribution business.
Years of Experience:
Must have prior inventory related experience, 5+ years preferred.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Must have exceptional skills in recordkeeping and product maintenance.
- Must have the ability to pay attention to details and be competent in managing a huge volume of data.
- Must be able to foresee supply patterns with the use of analytical thinking.
