About the role:

In Xperi we aim to disrupt the TV industry by introducing TiVo OS – a brand new, content-centric operating system for Smart TVs, based on the legendary American TiVo brand! As a member of Security & Provisioning team, you will contribute to ensuring our system is securely built, robust and scalable across various hardware. You will get an opportunity to work in an international environment and collaborate with other teams spread across Europe, America and Asia.

This technical role is focused on developing and designing system-wide solutions to ensure compliance with security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle. That includes native applications, firmware image creation and configuration, middleware, and drivers, integrated on ARM-based embedded Linux platforms.

What you do:

  • Design and develop Linux-based security-related services, tools and configuration (permissions, rules) of our operating system for smart TVs
  • Integrate tools responsible for security vulnerabilities monitoring and fix the vulnerabilities identified in our system
  • Develop system image components responsible for firmware signing, keys and certificates provisioning and securing the connectivity with backend servers
  • Contribute to security-related modifications in low-level Linux components: bootloader, kernel, systemd
  • Participate in regular code and design reviews of our Linux-based solutions
  • Create and maintain technical specifications and documentation
  • Contributing to R&D proof-of-concepts
  • Work in international environment with various teams across the globe
  • Being self-reliant, with a proactive approach and willingness to share your knowledge with peers

Who we are looking for:

Must have:

  • At least 6 years of experience with C, C++
  • At least 5 years of experience with Linux-based embedded systems
  • 5+ years of working experience with object-oriented designs
  • Solid knowledge of SW design patterns, architectures, and best practices
  • Experience with modern C++14, C++17 standards, libraries
  • Experience developing for and creating automated test frameworks
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance principles, methodologies, and practices in software development
  • Experience with project & delivery tools (eg. Gerrit, Jira, Confluence, Git, Github)
  • Experience in Linux shell scripting
  • Ability to understand and contribute to high level designs, UMLs, and API definitions
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and troubleshooting skills
  • Fluent and efficient communication in English (spoken and written)

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Linux kernel and systemd customizations
  • Experience with Linux performance tools and security models
  • Experience with security tools such as static code analyzers, vulnerability scanners
  • Experience with Yocto Linux distribution
  • Experience in Smart TV product certification
  • Experience in building hardened products for mass production
  • Understanding of application and data security principles
  • Solid knowledge of HTML and web standards
  • Working experience with Jenkins and CI/CD
