Job Description Summary:

Responsible for developing and administering recruitment for local college nursing programs and other allied health professionals. Responsible for involvement with local high schools throughout West Tennessee to stimulate students’ interest in a career in healthcare.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Works with officials from Union, Jackson State Community College, and other post secondary Nursing Programs to develop effective recruitment strategies for each program.
  • Establishes relationships with school teachers, guidance counselors, and school officials to earn their cooperation with recruitment efforts.
  • Designs communications materials such as handouts, PowerPoint presentations, newspaper articles, booklets, etc. for employees, school students, and school administrators.
  • Coordinates job shadowing for students.
  • Maintains familiarity with programs offered in local schools, their admission requirements, individuals in charge of each program, etc.
  • Attends college and career functions at various locations throughout the state of Tennessee. Maintains in depth knowledge of all educational assistance programs.
  • Maintains general knowledge of all areas of Human Resources.
  • Represents hospital at events such as Career Days, other recruitment activities and events discussing health care career opportunities, as needed.
  • Coordinates the Nursing scholarship process with candidate and school.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferred in Clinical Occupation.

LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION:

  • RN

EXPERIENCE:

  • Three to five years of experience in Recruitment
  • Two years experience in public speaking
  • Ability to perform standard office procedures. Knowledge of hospital and departmental policies and procedures as acquired through 4-6 months of orientation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Skill and proficiency in the principles, concepts, and techniques of the Employment and Recruitment function.
  • Knowledge in the management of the employment and recruitment functions, employment laws, EEO laws and interviewing techniques.
  • Personal Computer experience required
