Summary / Role Purpose
The Foundry R&D Engineer contributes to the development of software products and supporting systems. In this role, the R&D Engineer will collaborate with a team of expert professionals to accomplish development objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs basic development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of software modules and sub-systems
- Learns and employs best practices
- Performs basic bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products.
- Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions
- Works under the close supervision of a development manager
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field with 2+ years of experience.
- Solid knowledge in electromagnetics and microwave theory, including impedance matching, S-parameters and transmission line.
- Experience in Ansys HFSS/SIwave/Q3D for any high-frequency analysis.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Familiar with SI/PI flow on system level or package level design.
- Experience in High-speed Serdes and DDR simulations for signal integrity.
- Experience in PDN extraction and transient analysis for power integrity.
- Experience in different layout tools and strong knowledge in stack-up, metal/dielectric properties.
- Experience in instruments like VNA, scope, time-domain reflectometry (TDR). Better to have experience in correlation between simulation and measurements.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Sense of urgency, strong organizational and follow up skills
- Familiarity with TCL, Python or Perl
