Want to join a team with a mission to improve and save lives?

We continually look for motivated and skilled individuals who are interested in supporting our customers – healthcare professionals who use our products to help patients and their communities.

We currently have the following opportunity available - please contact us for more details!

We don’t just build technology. We build hope.

At Elekta, we make a difference by leading the way in precision radiation therapy. We’re dedicated to ensuring everyone has access to the best cancer care possible. Are you as passionate about our mission and innovation as we are? Then we would love to meet you!

We’re looking for a Junior Mechanical Verification Engineer to join our R&D team within the Neuro Business Line. You may be a new graduate or have had your first job and are looking for a new opportunity. This position is located at Elekta’s new head office at the heart of Hagastaden in Stockholm, Sweden.

What you’ll do at Elekta

You will be a part of a scrum team that specifies, develops and tests products for stereotactic neurosurgery in an R&D organization and works according to the SAFe agile methodology. The team’s goal is to develop and maintain precise, safe and compliant hardware devices and systems.

All mechanics, electronics and software are developed and verified in the Stockholm office.

Responsibilities

As a Junior Mechanical Verification Engineer at Elekta your primary responsibility will be mechanical verification and continuous test of Leksell Gamma Knife® and the Leksell® Vantage™ Stereotactic System (please check the links to check these products you’ll help verify). In short, Leksell Gamma Knife is a non-invasive, precision stereotactic treatment device used to deliver focused radiation to intercranial targets. Leksell® Vantage™ Stereotactic System is minimally invasive system for neurosurgery.

You will work in close cooperation with other team members to contribute to:

  • Prototype testing & design improvement: collaborate closely with team members to test prototypes, identify defects, and suggest design enhancements early in the development phase.
  • Verification & reporting: write test specifications, execute verification activities, and thoroughly document and report results.
  • Process & product improvements: participate in risk analysis, review of requirements, design drawings, related documents and selecting and validating tools.

This will require that you collaborate with many other stakeholders e.g. within system, control system, mechanics, quality, procurement, and production. We expect you to continuously strive to improve both process efficiency and product quality.

At Elekta we are passionate about developing our products, and we need to make sure that our deliveries are of exceptional quality.

What you’ll bring with you

We are looking for a highly motivated and quality-oriented team player with a hands-on approach and a passion for innovation. We hope that you are ready to take the initiative, and that you have a structured and analytical approach to solving problems regardless of your level of previous experience. To be successful in the role, we believe you:

  • Have a relevant University education such as Mechanical, Material or Medical Engineering or Physics
  • Enjoy working collaboratively in a team to solve problems together
  • Appreciate working detail oriented in a structured environment

If you are curious about agile development, scrum or the SAFe methodology for implementing agile practices that is a benefit.

Why should you join Elekta?

In this role, you will work for a higher purpose: hope for everyone dealing with cancer and for everyone, regardless of where they are in the world, to have access to the best cancer care. Additionally, our benefit package includes:

  • 30 paid vacation days/year, additional 4 Elekta days off /year (plus bank holidays).
  • Attractive defined contribution pension scheme.
  • Private Medical Insurance.
  • Lunch Benefit.
  • Contribution to wellness activities.
  • Hybrid work option (you are required to work on location at least 3 days a week).
