TEKsystems, in partnership with a leading healthcare client in Frederick, Maryland seeking to hire Patient Registration associates and Medical Office assistants.

Medical Office Assistant

• The majority of responsibility will be entering information into patient charts.
• Going through the paper charts, abstracting the information, and putting it into the patient's chart in Medconnect.
• Live patient abstraction, doing a little H/W/V updates.
• Supports other members of the clinical care team, assuring optimal best-practice patient flow; manages variable and unpredictable patient volume throughout the workday.
• Conducts surveillance for transitions of care, urgent/emergent care, or follow-up tasks such as retrieval of documents associated with referrals/testing.

Patient Registration associate

• They will scan all of the patient paper charts into the records on Med Connect.
• basic PRA/Scanner/Customer service
• Manages the intake of patients into the practice, screens for emergent conditions, registers, verifies insurance, and explains patient responsibility regarding payment for services and co-pays. (if needed)
• Ensures appropriate and timely status assignment of all appointments.
• Answers the telephone under the policy and service expectations, provides telephone triage, disseminates messages appropriately utilizing available technology, and prioritizes calls appropriately and timely.
• Prepares, updates, and copies forms, reports, and records on a routine basis; scans, imports, and indexes regularly to keep information flowing into patients’ medical records.

Strong Customer Service and patient experience

1 + years of experience with healthcare, understanding terminology and insurance verification

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
