Department: Orlando Health Medical Group - Corp Rad-Med Transcribers

Status: Full-Time | 40 hours per week

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm

Position Summary

Provides direct patient care, leveraging extensive experience to perform patient procedures, post processing techniques, and produce quality imagesfor physician interpretation. Possess an advanced knowledge of MRI applications and sharesthis knowledge with other technical staff. This position is also responsible for ensuring that all sites have updates guidelines and processes.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Ensuresthe high quality and consistency of MRI guidelinesthroughoutOrlandoHealth.
  • Serves as the primary liaison between Radiologists/Cardiologists and the MRI technologists on all issuesrelated to

MRI guidelines and regulatory/accreditation.

  • Takesresponsibility for the implementation of new MRI software and technology.
  • Actively participatesin marketing initiatives. Monitors and reports potential maintenance concernsto Imaging Services

Director. Standardizes quality assurance and control processes.

  • Participatesin the decision-making processfor acquiring new equipment, ensuring compliance with Orlando Health,

Joint Commission, ACR, and Florida State requirements for all MRI equipment.

  • Coordinatesthe submission of appropriate paperwork and clinical images necessary for ACR (American College of

Radiology) accreditation.

  • Rotatesregularly throughout all Orlando Health facilities to provide MRI services. Assesses and addresses sitespecific quality and performance issues to ensure organizational compliance and quality standards.
  • Communicates with the Imaging Services Director or Manager tomaximize the utilization of MRI servicesthrough safe,

quality-minded, cost-effective measures.

  • Ensuresthe safety of patients.
  • Maintainsreasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and

other Federal, state, and local standards.

  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures, department guidelines, and education requirements.

Qualifications

Education/Training

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology; and
  • Bachelor’s degree; or
  • Associate’s degree and two (2) years of experience (in addition to the requirements listed in the Experience section) may

substitute for Bachelor’s degree.

Licensure/Certification

  • Must maintain a valid Florida State license as a Certified Radiologic Technologist.
  • Must maintain a valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists(ARRT) certification.
  • Must maintain a valid ARRT certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.

Experience

  • Three (3) years of experience in MRI with specialized training in applicationsrequired.
  • Must be proficientin using a variety of imaging hospital-based computer systems and software applications.
