Support the day-to-day laboratory activities across Roche's Research and Technology facilities. Provide a safe and efficient workspace for scientific activities in close collaboration with the scientific laboratory staff, facilities, and inventory management personnel.

The Opportunity:

  • Partner with the Research and Technology scientists and Research and Technology Lab Operations team to ensure timely raw material supply, place orders and maintain inventory of critical laboratory materials using a web-based eProcurement system and SharePoint site.
  • Partner with Lab Operations for maintenance of GxP and non-GxP equipment
  • Responsible for operational lab support including autoclaving activities/training and troubleshooting of minor equipment issues.
  • Receive reagents and consumables ordered through SharePoint site and deliver to designated lab staff/storage areas throughout the lab, provide updates on orders as needed to requestors.
  • Main point of contact for Shipping and Receiving team, troubleshoot issues that arise and provide support to end users regarding material receipt.
  • Proactively maintain standing orders, communicate with vendors regarding adjustments to material reserves.
  • Responsible for preparing bulk reagent aliquots, buffers, and cleaning reagents that are critical to process.
  • Submit maintenance requests and partner cross-functionally with Scientific Facilities and Metrology to support equipment calibrations and PM scheduling.
  • Assist EHS in maintaining a safe working environment by reporting unsafe conditions and proposing potential solutions to EHS team.
  • Critically monitor operating processes for opportunities to increase efficiencies, participate in efforts to streamline current procedures.

Who You Are

  • BA/BS in biological sciences strongly preferred
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience
  • Solid understanding of GxP laboratory methodologies
  • Be able to lift, carry, and move 50lbs unassisted
  • Must be able to work standing or in motion for most of the day

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to drive and support processes
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven record of accomplishment of engaging and partnering on multiple projects and initiatives

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Philadelphia is $48,000 to $70,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
